I teach art at Kasarani Boys' School in Kasarani since 1986. Most days I teach mixed-ability classes, and I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I've had 1,720 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
What gifts mean to Macharia: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
