I've been a nurse for 47 years, most of them in oncology at Unity Maternity Hospital in Bogotá. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else. The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I walk the dog by the river. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
