Lucy Esther Kipchoge

Painter, potter and teacher at Old Kinondoni Studio

  • 🇹🇿 Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • Old Kinondoni Studio
  • Since 1986
  • English, Swahili
I work mostly in woodcarving, sometimes ceramics. My first show was in 1986 at Old Kinondoni Studio, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog. I also teach a weekly class at Old Kinondoni Studio, which keeps me honest. If you remember me, I'd love to hear from you.

What gifts mean to Lucy: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
