Lúcia Antônia Batista
Pottery, done properly
- 🇧🇷 Belém, Pará, Brazil
- Since 1979
- English, Portuguese, Spanish
I've worked in pottery since 1979. I learned from my older brother and passed what I could on to 1,130 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 13 years later for another job.
More about Lúcia
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Lúcia: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
