Luana Gabriela Fernandes

27 years teaching environmental science in Guarulhos

🇧🇷 Guarulhos, São Paulo, Brazil
Victory Public School
1985 to 1994
Portuguese, French

I came to teaching late, after working as a shop assistant, and nine years later I still can't imagine doing anything else. I coached the school's quiz team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

More about Luana

The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

Subjects taught

Environmental science Home economics

What gifts mean to Luana: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me environmental science in 2004 at Victory Public School. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard!
