I've been a nurse for 34 years, most of them in midwifery at Los Angeles University Hospital in Los Angeles. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I sing in a choir.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
