Long Wei Pan
Bicycle repair for 33 years in Detroit
- 🇺🇸 Detroit, Michigan, United States
- Detroit Works
- Since 1993
- English, Mandarin
I've worked in bicycle repair since 1993. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 960 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I try to remember everyone's name.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Long
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Long: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
