Lola Damilola Balogun
Helping people break into engineering
- 🇳🇬 Ogbomosho, Oyo, Nigeria
- Ashford Foundation
- 1985 to 1994
- English, Igbo
For nine years I've mentored people in engineering and entrepreneurship. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Lola
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Lola: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
