I've been a nurse for 43 years, most of them in mental health at Kilimanjaro Regional Medical Center in Denver. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I'm always reading two books at once.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
