Liya Marta Alemu
Volunteer mentor with Liberty Community Trust
- 🇪🇹 Mekelle, Tigray, Ethiopia
- Liberty Community Trust
- Since 1978
- English
For 48 years I've mentored people in careers and engineering. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening.
I don't give advice so much as ask questions until the answer shows up. I'm always reading two books at once.
More about Liya
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Liya: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
