I've coached softball at San Diego Silverlake Boxing Gym since 1990. Most of my players were between 8 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I play music while people worked.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
What gifts mean to Lily: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
