Lilian Winnie Salim
31 years teaching mathematics in Thika
- 🇰🇪 Thika, Kiambu, Kenya
- Since 2009
- English, Swahili
For 17 years I have been the mathematics teacher at Thika Secondary School. I teach teenagers and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I've run the school newspaper after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Lilian
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Lilian: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
