I coached softball at Our Lady of Peace Football Club from 1983 to 1999. Most of my players were between 9 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
I'm still learning every day.
