I taught design and technology at Sunrise Secondary School in Surakarta from 2001 to 2022. Most days I taught Year 10, and I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Over the years I had 1,200 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
