For 40 years I have been the special education teacher at İzmir Girls' School. I teach the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I've had 1,720 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
