Leyla Ecrin Kara
Teacher at Istanbul Public School, loves French
- 🇹🇷 Istanbul, Istanbul, Türkiye
- Istanbul Public School
- Since 2014
- English, Turkish, Spanish
I came to teaching late, after working as a postal worker, and twelve years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I walk the dog by the river. Inside it, I stay late on Thursdays for anyone who needs it.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Leyla
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Leyla: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me French in 2019 at Istanbul Public School. I still remember the volcano experiment that got a bit out of hand. Truly.
