I've coached softball at Dortmund Baobab Community Club since 1987. Most of my players were between 12 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
More about Leonid
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Leonid: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
