I coached athletics at Frankfurt Youth Club from 1980 to 1995. Most of my players were between 8 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I played music while people worked.
What gifts mean to Lena: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
