I taught accounting at Maple Ridge Technical College in Cairo from 2004 to 2016. Most days I taught the youngest children, and I never turned anyone away.
Over the years I had 710 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Leila
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the mountains, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
