Layla Wahba

French and English literature teacher, 6th of October City

  • 🇪🇬 6th of October City, Giza, Egypt
  • Liberty Boys' School
  • Since 2004
  • English, Arabic, French
I came to teaching late, after working as a farmhand, and 22 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else. Over the years I've had 590 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.

More about Layla

The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Layla: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me French in 2004 at Liberty Boys' School. I still remember the cold winter when we all kept our coats on. Thank you again.
