I coached cricket at San Diego Youth Club from 2006 to 2016. Most of my players were between 11 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learned every name in the first week.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Lawrence
If you played for me, you probably remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard.
What gifts mean to Lawrence: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
