Lakshmi K. Varma
38 years teaching home economics in Salem
- 🇮🇳 Salem, Tamil Nadu, India
- Salem Boys' School
- Since 1978
- English, Telugu
Salem Boys' School is my second home. I teach home economics there since 1978, mostly mixed-ability classes.
Over the years I've had 1,440 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Lakshmi
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Lakshmi: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me home economics in 1996 at Salem Boys' School. I still remember the end-of-term party.
