I coached baseball at Nijmegen Community Club from 1988 to 2004. Most of my players were between 11 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I played music while people worked.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
What gifts mean to Koen: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.

you coached me in 2002. I still hear your voice on the sideline! Greetings from Karachi.
