Kobina Sarpong
Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices
- 🇬🇭 Obuasi, Ashanti, Ghana
- Obuasi Works
- Since 1989
- English
I'm a weaving specialist. If you live around Obuasi, there's a good chance I've worked in a building near you.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 21 years later for another job.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Kobina
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Kobina: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
