Kirit A. Chheda
Master of bicycle repair, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇳 New Delhi, Delhi, India
- Since 1988
- English, Marathi
I've worked in bicycle repair since 1988. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 1,790 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I try to remember everyone's name.

If I fixed something for you, I hope it's still holding.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Kirit: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
