Kimani Mwende
Musician with Nairobi Hope Orchestra
- 🇰🇪 Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya
- Nairobi Hope Orchestra
- Since 1978
- English
I play violin and oud. I started in 1978 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness.
I teach about 18 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I sing in a choir.
More about Kimani
I write my first song when I was 16. It was terrible and I still love it.
What gifts mean to Kimani: Any gift will help me keep teaching kids who can't afford lessons.
