Khalid Rashid Awan
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇵🇰 Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan
- Old Oakwood Works
- 1983 to 2009
- English
I've worked in thatching from 1983 to 2009. I learned from my aunt and passed what I could on to 1,530 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 11 years later for another job.
More about Khalid
If I fixed something for you, I hope it's still holding.
What gifts mean to Khalid: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
