Kemi Joy Lawal
Master of baking, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Wudil, Kano, Nigeria
- The Meadowbank Workshop
- Since 1993
- English, Hausa
My trade is baking. I opened my own shop in 1993 in Wudil and I'm still there most mornings.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Kemi: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
