I've coached chess at Durham Valley View Boxing Gym since 1992. Most of my players were between 10 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I fix old bicycles.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
