Kato Mussa Onyango
Blacksmithing for 18 years in Kasarani
- 🇰🇪 Kasarani, Nairobi, Kenya
- Little Westbrook Shop
- Since 2008
- English, Swahili, Spanish
My trade is blacksmithing. I opened my own shop in 2008 in Kasarani and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I answer every message, eventually.
More about Kato
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Kato: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
