Kato Joseph Kamau
Master of tiling, now teaching apprentices
- 🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- Willow Creek Shop
- Since 2011
- English, Swahili
I've worked in tiling since 2011. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 890 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 23 years later for another job.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Kato: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
