Helping people break into first-generation students
- 🇳🇿 Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand
- Orchid Community Trust
- 1985 to 2015
- English, Spanish
I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 1,500 people through Orchid Community Trust.
I don't give advice so much as ask questions until the answer shows up. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Katherine
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Katherine: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.

I'm a architect now. It started with one call with you. Greetings from Accra.
