Kariuki Rashidi Mwakyusa

13 years teaching computer science in Nairobi

🇰🇪 Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya
Beacon Academy
Since 1996

For 30 years I have been the computer science teacher at Beacon Academy. I teach teenagers and a few brave older students who wanted extra help. Outside the classroom I run most mornings. Inside it, I answer every email, even at midnight. I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

More about Kariuki

Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the old fort, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Kariuki: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
