I taught design and technology at Mombasa Secondary School in Mombasa from 1989 to 2006. Most days I taught Grade 6, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
More about Kariuki
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.

What gifts mean to Kariuki: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
