Karanja Kipchoge Kariuki

Athletics and fitness coach, Kinondoni

  • 🇹🇿 Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • Since 1994
  • English, Swahili
I've coached athletics at Kinondoni Mount Pleasant Community Club since 1994. Most of my players were between 12 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.

What gifts mean to Karanja: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
