I coached baseball at Brookfield Athletic Club from 1983 to 2004. Most of my players were between 9 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
What gifts mean to Kamrul: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.

I still think about the last day before the summer holidays. Best summer of my life. Greetings from Manukau.
