I've coached boxing at Lafayette Beacon Boxing Gym since 2015. Most of my players were between 11 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Kamal
If you played for me, you probably remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard.
