I taught English literature at Eastgate Middle School in Fresno from 2001 to 2011. Most days I taught Year 7, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I coached the school's basketball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Kai
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
