I teach history and agriculture at Istanbul Public School, Istanbul. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I've had 370 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Kaan
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Kaan: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
