Juma Omondi Maina
Oud player and teacher in Kasarani
- 🇰🇪 Kasarani, Nairobi, Kenya
- Kasarani Westbrook Band
- Since 1982
- English
I play oud and traditional drumming. I started in 1982 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness.
I teach about 6 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I run most mornings.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
