I coached tennis at Edinburgh Mount Pleasant Youth Club from 1983 to 1991. Most of my players were between 12 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never turned anyone away.
