Julia K. Thornton
24 years teaching special education in Southampton
- 🇬🇧 Southampton, England, United Kingdom
- Beacon Grammar School
- Since 2002
- English, Spanish
I came to teaching late, after working as an accountant, and 24 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I've coached the school's netball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Julia
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

you taught me special education in 2018 at Beacon Grammar School. I still remember the long bus ride home. Truly.
