Joyce Lucy Waweru
Folk music player and teacher in Thika
- 🇰🇪 Thika, Kiambu, Kenya
- Thika Liberty Ensemble
- 1994 to 2008
- English
I play folk music and violin. I started in 1994 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness.
I teach about 15 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I make terrible puns.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Joyce
I wrote my first song when I was 21. It was terrible and I still love it.

What gifts mean to Joyce: I'd put a gift toward recording a small album.
