Joyce G. Haynes

Teacher at Cedar Grove High School, loves history

English

I taught history at Cedar Grove High School in Southampton from 1994 to 2009. Most days I taught the final-year class, and I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it. Over the years I had 690 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

More about Joyce

The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

Subjects taught

What gifts mean to Joyce: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
