I've been a nurse for 39 years, most of them in community health at Heritage Community Hospital in Kano. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I garden badly but happily.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
