Joseph Kipchoge Kamau
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇹🇿 Arusha, Arusha, Tanzania
- The Victory Repairs
- Since 1986
- English
I've worked in thatching since 1986. I learned from my mother and passed what I could on to 1,680 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 17 years later for another job.
More about Joseph
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Joseph: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
