José S. Montes

Traditional drumming and oud teacher

  • 🇺🇸 Durham, North Carolina, United States
  • Durham Ensemble
  • 1983 to 2010
  • English
I've played traditional drumming from 1983 to 2010, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach. My favorite gigs are the small ones where somebody cries a little in the third row.

More about José

I wrote my first song when I was 15. It was terrible and I still love it.
