Jose D. Evans
Master of painting and decorating, now teaching apprentices
- 🇨🇦 Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
- The Ottawa Workshop
- 2001 to 2013
- English
My trade is painting and decorating. I opened my own shop in 2001 in Ottawa and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I try to remember everyone's name.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Jose
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

What gifts mean to Jose: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
