José Azevedo
Coached boxing for eight years in Feira de Santana
- 🇧🇷 Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brazil
- Feira de Santana Jacaranda Athletic Club
- 1981 to 1989
- Portuguese
For eight years I ran the boxing program at Feira de Santana Jacaranda Athletic Club in Feira de Santana. We trained 2 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never once raised my voice.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

Thanks for picking me when I was the slowest kid on the team. Greetings from São Paulo.

You coached me in 1981. I still hear your voice on the sideline.
