Jose A. Galang
Master of masonry, now teaching apprentices
- 🇵🇭 Dasmariñas, Cavite, Philippines
- Old Dasmariñas Trades Guild
- 1987 to 1995
- English, Filipino
I've worked in masonry from 1987 to 1995. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 310 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I take the work seriously, though not myself.
More about Jose
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

What gifts mean to Jose: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
